The Amazing Race: Apr 16th

The Amazing Race is on! Benefiting Ranch House Rescue, the Lantana Ladies League will once again host this popular event for women in the surrounding community. Ranch Hand Rescue is a local non-profit organization that connects abused animals with people suffering from trauma, abuse, or mental health issues.

How does the race work? It’s not exactly like the TV show, but it sure is fun. Women form their own teams of 10 “racers.” Each team chooses a team name and color. Each team is assigned to a stretch limousine. The limousines “race” from one destination to another where teams, or a team member, must perform a task to earn a clue to advance to the next challenge location. The team that completes all tasks and arrives at the final destination first wins the Amazing Race and bragging rights until the next year.

So how does this event benefit Ranch Hand Rescue? The cost to participate is $70 per person and covers a donation to Ranch House Rescue as well as a Tex-Mex buffet meal with margaritas at the start of the race, limo rentals plus gratuity, and prizes for the winners. This year, the ladies will race on April 16, so if you happen to go out that night and see limo after limo racing through Lantana and the surrounding community, show your support for the teams and honk and wave!
