Superior Pool Service At Your Fingertips

Jay Brakefield didn’t see himself getting back into the pool cleaning business when he offered to help his boss figure out a pesky maintenance issue that a handful of pool experts couldn’t seem to figure out.

“I just said, ‘Well, let me take a look at it. I have some experience with pools,’” Brakefield said.

Within an hour, not only had he fixed the problem, but his boss was so thrilled that he insisted Jay personally take care of his pool on the side from then on out. One neighborhood pool quickly led to two, then several more. By 2017, just four years later, he had started his own pool company and was servicing 19 pools – all in the same area. Today, Brakefield’s Pool Service maintains 77 pools a week and is quickly becoming the go-to pool company for Denton County residents.

“I love what I do, and now I wake up wondering why I didn’t just stay in the business to begin with,” Jay said with a laugh. He started out cleaning a friend’s pool when he was in high school but got away from it after graduation. He went back to working on pools in 2007 but eventually joined the military before going to work for a real estate company.

“It’s been quite the rollercoaster. I mean, who knows where I’d be had I just stuck with it in 2007,” Jay said. “But it’s been fun. I got married, had kids, started a company, and now it’s taking off.”

Brakefield’s Pool Service does more than just clean pools. They are experts in everything from service and maintenance to maintaining chemicals and handling equipment upgrades and remodels for older pools. They are also a licensed irrigation specialist, a combination you simply can’t find with another pool company.

They are committed to providing both a service and product that meets their customer’s needs and pride themselves on being that company where you can talk to the owner – any day, any time. Here is just one testimonial from a happy client.

“Recently relocating from out of state, there are a ton of loose ends and details to keep up with – AND we had never owned a pool before so we were clueless. Jay and Paul have done a fantastic job of keeping our pool swim-ready and also educating us in the process. Jay promptly answers our untimely (weekend) equipment questions and either walks us through the remedy or makes room for us in his schedule that day. Brakefield’s Pool Service is not only focused on servicing our pool, but they provide excellent customer service as well.” – Patti B

To add more value-added services, Jay said he is continually learning as much as he can and currently offers inspections if you are planning on buying or selling a house. He also offers a free pool school for first-time homeowners who have never owned a pool.

“If all you know is that a pool is that thing in the backyard that holds water, we will come out and teach you how to work your pool. If you have a hot tub and have no idea how to turn the heat on, we can teach you that, too,” Jay said. “The goal is to make sure your overall experience with your swimming pool is the best around.”
