Faith. Family. Goals.

Faith. Family. Goals.

Exhausted, you drop into bed. Thinking over the night, you just can’t figure out what happened. Praying, you have a nagging feeling. You need to find a person to guide you – a counselor. But how do you find that person? You want someone to support your family, your faith, your role. You want a person who understands your faith and can help with the problems in your family.

Many people begin their search for a counselor with some big questions about faith, the effectiveness of treatment, and how to find the right therapist. These questions fill your mind with anxiety and many times stop you from seeking the help you want and need.

Don’t be anxious. When you call Acorn, one of our counselors can assist you in finding the right counselor. Our staff of committed Christians work to help you integrate your behavior and your beliefs. Because we have struggled to work out our faith and educated ourselves in evidence-based techniques, our clinicians use extremely effective techniques while focusing on scripture that speaks to our clients. If your worldview does not incorporate Christianity, we focus on evidence-based techniques and help you find ways to integrate your own worldview.

With families, we focus our attention on the parents’ beliefs and their vision for the family – helping them to communicate their beliefs, listen to the thoughts/feelings of their children, and supporting the family as the individuals within it grow. This work excites us! Common goals in our treatment include teaching families to connect through fun activities and games and also helping parents to set common-sense boundaries and learn about how the brain works and grows.

Interested in working with Christian evidence-based therapists? Call us today! We have specialists in children, adolescents, couples, family, and substance abuse. Just need more information about the intersection between faith and mental health?
