Changing Lives One Smile at a Time

Changing Lives One Smile at a Time

by Stevel Gamel

Changing lives one smile at a time is the ultimate goal at Titensor Dental.  From starting the nation’s first third party dental warranty program to being trained in all aspects of dentistry by some of dentistry’s leading experts, Titensor Dental is always looking to achieve the highest standard of dental care for their patients and
their community.

To continue with their pledge to have their patients’ best interests in mind, Steven Titensor DDS, PA, founded the first third party dental warranty program that not only offers peace of mind for their patients, but is quickly doing the same for others as the program sweeps across
the nation.

The idea to explore warranty programs started when one of Dr. Steven Titensor’s patients fell while at the movies. He had recently gone to Titensor Dental to get cosmetic work completed including several veneers, a layer of material placed over a tooth either to improve the aesthetics of the tooth or to protect the tooth’s surface
from damage.

As luck would have it, the patient’s fall did not result in any damage, but according to Dr. Steven Titensor, it got them thinking about what would have happened if he needed repair work. Was there a warranty? How did it all work?
After some brainstorming, the nation’s first 3rd party dental warranty program began.

“The way dentistry has always been done is so ambiguous on dental procedures – if the patient’s dental work is covered or not,” Dr. Steven Titensor said. “The patient doesn’t know and the dentist doesn’t know. Nothing is usually ever written down.  This warranty is a no-brainer and every dentist in the nation should be offering this to their patients.”
In Dr. Steven Titensor’s eyes, dentists have three choices. They can not warranty their work, self-warranty their work, or use a third party. Using a third party was the most logical.
What is great about a third party Dental Warranty is that the warranty follows the patient wherever they go. So if they move or if their dentist retires, changes or moves, the coverage remains in place. It is clear, everyone is on the same page, and it is in writing. Plus, it is a no-fault coverage!  This offers patients and doctors the peace of mind
they deserve.

Because of Dr. Steven Titensor’s desire to develop this warranty for his patients, dentists around the nation can now benefit by offering their patients this dental coverage through a third party insurance company called Dental Warranty ( It covers all restorative work such as dentures, crowns, veneers, bridges, fillings, root canals, etc. “They get the warranty in writing, and they know what to expect,” Dr. Steven Titensor said. “It betters the loyalty of the patient-doctor relationship. It is all done in the name of going above and beyond for my patients.”
And honestly, none of this should be a surprise who know the quality of care found at Titensor Dental.

Titensor Dental is the one-stop practice everyone in Denton County craves — offering everything from vast dental knowledge to community outreach services and a rare family atmosphere. On any given day, Dr. Steven Titensor can be found out in the lobby giving a longtime client a hug or personally welcoming a new patient before they step in the exam room.

He started his family-owned practice almost 30 years ago and offers a complete and caring approach to dentistry without the need to refer work out to other offices. Everything can usually be done under one roof by a father-son combo with years of experience and extensive training under their belts.

Residents of Argyle, Lantana, Flower Mound, Highland Village, Double Oak and all over the metroplex make it a point to seek out Titensor Dental for their needs, and the various awards and accolades symbolize what Denton County thinks of their hard work.

Titensor Dental was voted Best Cosmetic Dentist and Best Implant Dentist in the 2014 and 2015 Best of Denton County awards, as well as Best at Root Canals in Living Magazines Best of Flower Mound.

Dr. Steven Titensor graduated in 1986 from the Baylor College of Dentistry as a general dentist, and has built a solid reputation as a master of family, implant, cosmetic and sedation dentistry. He has obtained the International Dental Implant Association’s highest accreditation of Diplomate status and has emphasized his training in dental implants, TMJ, root canals, Invisalign, oral/IV sedation and advanced cosmetic dentistry including the much sought after DURAthin prepless veneers.

His vision was to give patients more than the accepted standard of a “drill and fill” practice.

“In dentistry, there is a surgical part and a restorative part. And most of the time with other dental offices, you end up having some of that work referred out to someone else,” Dr. Steven Titensor said. “That’s why people come here, because we provide options. If a patient wants to be sedated and they need an extraction, an implant, a crown, root canal and gum draft, you can’t send them to three different dentists and have them sedated every time. They want to get it done at one time.  Because of our training and skill at Titensor Dental, we can complete all those procedures here and often under IV sedation by a board certified anesthesiologist.”

Brett Titensor, DDS agreed that his father’s approach has made Titensor Dental invaluable. “When patients come in, we call them by their name, we ask them about their family. We know them,” Dr. Brett Titensor said. “You lose control of that when you refer your patients out to someone else who may only see them once. There’s no warmth to that. Plus it is such a convenience to save time and money having everything done at one time and at one place.”

Dr. Brett Titensor, as a general dentist, is bringing the next generation of dentistry – innovation, technology, relationships, and service – into Titensor Dental with full enthusiasm.

His extensive training in CEREC same-day crown technology paired with his skill and passion for art and aesthetics has enabled Titensor Dental to offer beautiful, modern dental lab results in a fraction of the time. Seeing his talent, the CEREC Company selected Dr. Brett Titensor to be a mentor that trains other dentists nationwide in the technology.

He is also the youngest member to ever fulfill the requirements for three years running to become a qualified member of the prestigious Crown Council dental association.  Being fluent in the Mandarin Chinese language, Dr. Brett Titensor makes an effort to reach out and serve the area’s Chinese community as well.

By working together, Dr. Steven and Dr. Brett Titensor can offer patients more convenient appointment times. They have also incorporated some of today’s latest digital dental technology in their office.  Key advancements, like digital impressions and CEREC same day crowns, allow Titensor Dental the ability to make a crown for a patient in just one visit.

Titensor Dental is also dedicated to changing children’s lives by participating in the Smiles for Life program each year from March 1-June 30. For this limited time each year, Titensor Dental offers professional teeth whitening services where all proceeds go directly to the Smiles for Life Foundation ( to help provide care for underprivileged children all over the world. The program also helps fund dental humanitarian trips to places like the Dominican Republic, Nepal, Guatemala, Mexico and China.

Together, Steven Titensor DDS, PA and Brett Titensor DDS are determined to make a difference and change people’s lives….one smile at a time… by giving their patients hometown, personalized customer service and expertise in all aspects of dentistry. They treat their customers like family, and they are proud to offer a higher level of care that can reach patients right here in Denton County and beyond.
